BMW suspends production in Bavaria due to lack of parts from Ukraine

The German auto giant BMW is suspending production at a plant in Regensburg in southern Germany due to problems in the supply of semiconductors and components from Ukraine, Report informs referring to TASS.

A company representative noted that the production of cars will be suspended for at least a week. This measure will affect about a third of 9,000 employees working at the plant in Regensburg.

As a rule, about 1,000 X1, X2 and 1 series vehicles leave the assembly line in Regensburg every day. However, it is still unclear how events will develop in the coming week.

Previously, BMW had already temporarily suspended production at three plants - in the German cities of Munich, Dingolfing and in the Austrian city of Steyr. The reason was that there were not enough cables for production, which are usually produced in Ukraine. Earlier, for the same reason, the German automaker Volkswagen also experienced difficulties with production.
