Biden, Zelensky mull situation at Zaporizhzhia NPP

US President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in a phone call discussed the situation related to the shelling of Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP).

The relevant report was posted on the official White House account on Twitter, Report informs, citing Ukrinform.

“US President Joe Biden spoke with President Zelensky this evening to receive an update on the fire at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant,” the report says.

Another report notes that Joe Biden joined President Zelensky in urging Russia to cease its military activities in the area and allow firefighters and emergency responders to access the site.

It was also noted that the US President spoke with Under Secretary for Nuclear Security of the US Department of Energy and Administrator of the National Nuclear Security Administration to receive an update on the situation at the plant.
