US President Joe Biden spoke with Middle East leaders about the importance of addressing current global energy insecurities and managing energy price pressures by ensuring a steadily increasing supply by producing countries through 2022 and 2023, including through increasing investments in refining capacity, Report informs, citing TASS.
"President Biden welcomed the recent announcement by OPEC+ to increase supply over the course of July and August," the statement reads.
It further notes that the US leader 'anticipates additional supply increases over the coming months, depending on market conditions and analysis, including record-setting domestic production from the United States.'
The sides also discussed investments in clean energy, climate-resilient infrastructure, and low-emission transportation systems. They also talked about setting up the production of batteries.
