France wants to become an empire again and subjugate its former colonies, Asim Mollazada, chairman of the Azerbaijan Democratic Reforms Party, member of the Milli Majlis, said, commenting on the recent decision of the Bastia Court to ban the use of the Corsican language in debates, Report informs.
According to him, the French government denies Corsicans the right to be Corsicans.
"This decision looks like revenge on the great Corsican Napoleon Bonaparte," he added.
Mollazada recalled that some French politicians said Azerbaijan violates the rights of the Karabakh Armenians: "Why don't they recognize the rights of the Corsicans? It's very sad that this is happening in the center of Europe."
"We hope that the people of France will find a way out of a very dangerous situation. Returning to the values of the colonial period in the 21st century is very dangerous, just as dangerous as Islamophobia, anti-Semitism, racism," he concluded.
