Argentina will import electricity from Brazil to compensate for power outages caused by severe storms in several cities, Report informs, citing a statement by the Argentine Energy Ministry.
“Emergency measures were taken to restore power supply in areas affected by the storm. [Among these measures] is the import of electricity from Brazil,” reads the statement.
About 1 million homes were affected by outages.
At least 13 people died due to the storms on Saturday in the Argentine city of Bahia Blanca, located on the Atlantic coast. At least 15 casualties have been reported in Buenos Aires.
