Annalena Baerbock urges EU to list IRGC as terrorist organization

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock urged the EU to list the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization.

The US designated IRGC in 2019 and the latest country to join ranks was Canada, where Iranian dissidents have also been targeted by IRGC plots to kill and kidnap.

“We as the EU have imposed sanctions against hundreds of responsible persons under various sanctions regimes. After the decision of the Dusseldorf Higher Court, we have a legal basis to include the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in the list of terrorists,” Baerbock said.
