American online retailer Amazon.com Inc. signed an agreement to purchase One Medical, a primary health care provider, Report informs citing Interfax.

One Medical parented by 1Life Healthcare Inc. operates 182 medical offices in the United States.

Amazon will pay $18 per share of One Medical, with the deal is valued at $3.9 billion, including debt.

Amazon continues to expand in the field of healthcare. In 2019, the retailer acquired the PillPack online pharmacy and later opened a primary care clinic for employees.

Under the terms of the deal, Amir Dan Rubin will remain One Medical's chief executive officer.

Amazon shares fell 0.7% during trading on Thursday, meanwhile, the shares of 1Life Healthcare Inc. are rising by 67.8%.
