Almost 250 earthquakes recorded off Taiwan's east coast

Almost 250 tremors have occurred over the past 24 hours off the east coast of Taiwan, Report informs, citing the island's Central Weather Bureau (CWB).
According to the bureau's data, a total of 247 earthquakes have occurred in the Hualien County area since 15:08 (GMT +8) Monday and as of 13:30 Tuesday. At the same time, the magnitude of the most powerful of them reached 6.3.
In addition, according to the bureau, since April 3, the number of tremors and aftershocks after a powerful earthquake on the island amounted to 1,095.
According to statistics, tremors in Hualien County, located in the eastern part of Taiwan, occur more often than in other areas of the island. In February 2018, a devastating earthquake of magnitude 6.5 killed 16 people and injured another 285.
