Africa issue to be discussed during Rome’s G7 Presidency

Africa issue will be one of the key ones during Rome’s Presidency in the Group of Seven (G7) in 2024, Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said, Report informs citing TASS.

“Africa will be one of the topics we will pay special attention to during the Italian G7 Presidency in 2024. Stabilizing the situation in Libya is one of the priorities of Italian foreign policy. The country’s fragmentation worries us because it threatens the security of our southern border,” he said. “A political agreement to hold elections in Libya must be reached through inclusive dialogue, as this is the only way to put it into practice and provide Libyan institutions with the necessary strength and legitimacy to sustainably stabilize the country.”
