Afghanistan won't be able to participate in the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in September, since the new Afghan authorities have not yet been granted a seat in the organization, said the head of the Taliban movement's political bureau in Qatar, Suhail Shaheen, Report informs referring to foreign media.
"We would like to participate, and this is our right, and we demand that the UN Credentials Committee transfer Afghanistan's seat in the UN to the government of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in order to pave the way for our participation. This has not happened yet even after three years of Afghanistan's independence, after the withdrawal of foreign troops from the country," he noted.
