Although NATO is helping Ukraine, it is not at war with Russia, said Chair of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer, Report informs.
He said there is no reason for a military conflict with Moscow yet:
"If Russia were to attack one of our member states, there would be a direct conflict between NATO and the Kremlin. But now, NATO is not at war with Russia."
According to the admiral, Kyiv itself should decide the outcome of the war: "NATO supports Ukraine and its right to self-defense. It is legal for NATO members and more than 20 countries to support Ukraine."
Earlier, the former Secretary General of the Alliance Anders Fogh Rasmussen stated that there is a risk of a direct armed conflict between NATO and Russia, and if the Russian side attacks Lithuania, it will lead to the outbreak of war.
