About 500 people evacuated in Lithuania due to spill of dangerous substances

The spill of hazardous chemicals in the Kaunas region of Lithuania forced the evacuation of about 500 people, Report informs via TASS.

"Due to dangerous chemicals with volatile gases that ended up in the centralized sewerage system, we had to evacuate about 500 residents of the Kaunas region," the police department said.

One of the employees of the fire and rescue service, who worked at the scene, suffered chemical poisoning and was hospitalized.
