About 20 people injured in explosion at military base in Peru

At least 19 people were injured in an explosion that occurred on the territory of a military base in the city of Quillabamba in the Cusco department in southern Peru, Report informs referring to TASS.
It is noted that among the victims are five military and 14 civilians who were injured due to broken window panes from the blast wave. All victims receive medical assistance. In total, about 70 nearby houses were damaged.
Representatives of the army and police of Peru went to the scene of the incident and are investigating the causes of the explosion. According to preliminary data, it could have been caused by a fire in an explosives warehouse.
