15 dead as explosion rocks residential building in Iraq

At least 15 people died as a result of an explosion in a residential building in the region of the Kurdish Regional National Autonomy located in the north-east of Iraq.
Report informs via Iraqi media that many people were injured as a result of the incident. Their exact number has not been disclosed. The deaths are feared to rise as the condition of some of the injured is serious.
The gas distribution system on the roof of the house is believed to have exploded during the repair works leading to the building collapse. Neighboring houses were also damaged during the incident.
Search and rescue operations at the explosion site have been completed.
