The Swedish police identified 130 people and detained ten of them following the April 14-17 riots sparked by the public burning of the Koran, the police said in a press release on Wednesday, Report informs, citing TASS.
"The police held an intensive investigation after Easter holidays. Over 130 people linked to riots to any extent have been identified. Of them, ten have been nabbed, and 77 more are suspected of committing crimes," the press release says.
Crimes of which rioters are suspected include attempted murder, aggravated police sabotage, and aggravated violent disorder. According to the police, work to identify the perpetrators will continue. "According to our estimates, there are still approximately 200-300 people whom we, in all likelihood, will be able to identify and bring to justice," a source in the police said.
The option to upload photos and videos from the scene of the riots is now available to anyone on the police website. Individuals have posted more than 2,000 videos and images to the site, identifying most of the rioters.
