Speakers of Azerbaijani and Serbian parliaments mull bilateral co-op

Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Sahiba Gafarova and Speaker of the Serbian Parliament Ana Brnabic have discussed bilateral cooperation in the political and economic spheres, Report informs.

The cooperation was discussed during a meeting of the speakers of the parliaments of the two countries within the 148th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

The parties expressed satisfaction with the current state of high-level relations between the two countries; the development of cooperation in political and economic, as well as in a number of other areas, was noted.

At the meeting, double standards in the system of international relations, including in international organizations, in particular PACE, were criticized, and it was noted that this contradicts the tasks and mission undertaken by this organization.

The importance of holding the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) was noted, and the Serbian side congratulated Azerbaijan on organizing this important international event.

An exchange of views also took place on other topics of mutual interest.
