Prison term for online drug dealing may reach 12 years in Azerbaijan

Online drug dealers face up to 12 years in prison in Azerbaijan, as reflected in the amendments to the Criminal Code, which were discussed in the first reading at today's parliament session.
Report informs, quoting from the amendments, that illegal manufacture, production, acquisition, storage, transportation, transfer or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their precursors using the mass media, including Internet information resources or information and telecommunication networks, will be punishable by imprisonment for a term of 5 up to 12 years.
The draft document was put to the vote and adopted in the third reading.
