Today, Armenia is still posing a terror threat to Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani Milli Majlis (Parliament) member Aydin Mizazada said, according to Report.
"Burying a large number of landmines in the territory of Azerbaijan during the past year is direct terrorism," he said.
According to him, it is also known that there are illegal armed detachments in the areas where Russian peacekeepers are temporarily stationed and that the weapons they acquire are not bought from taxes collected from the population: "So someone is funding them. Of course, the political side of the issue also plays a role. There is a threat of terrorism for our country as a whole, and not only Azerbaijan but also international financial institutions and other organizations should be active in fighting this case. In order to prevent such situations, it is important to adopt the new bill 'On the fight against the legalization of property obtained through crime and the financing of terrorism.'"
Ziyafat Asgarov, Chairman of the Defense, Security and Anti-Corruption Committee of the Milli Majlis, said that the main goal is to ensure that financial institutions are more sustainable against such cases: "The goal is to be able to prevent such facts immediately because we are trying not to damage our economic system."
