MP: Please, reduce the duration of the state anthem of Azerbaijan

Baku. 2 November. REPORT.AZ/ " I made my children sing the national anthem of Azerbaijan when Azerbaijan was not independent yet. However, while other anthems last only 2-2.5 minutes, the national anthem of Azerbaijan is 4-minute, even in the minor genre. After all, it is not elegy," MP Tahir Kerimli said.

Report informs that Kerimli spoke during the discussion of the Constitutional Law "On Approval of Music and Text of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan" at today’s plenary meeting of Milli Majlis.

The MP said that everyone must love the anthem of the state: "It has been repeatedly suggested to reduce the duration of the anthem. It should be tuned into a magnificent anthem. Uzeyir Hajibayov composed a hymn of the Azerbaijan Soviet Republic. It was more optimistic than this anthem. These factors should be taken into account. Please, reduce the duration of the anthem and remove pessimistic notes."
