Group to control implementation of laws to be created in Milli Majlis

A new mechanism is being formed in the Milli Majlis, Chairman of the Milli Majlis's Accounting Commission, MP Eldar Guliyev told Report.

He said that under the instructions and recommendations of President Ilham Aliyev, a law enforcement group would be established under the Milli Majlis soon.

"Deputies in various fields will be represented in this group," Guliyev noted

He recalled that President Ilham Aliyev, who addressed the first session of the Milli Majlis of the sixth convocation on March 10 last year, noted that deputies face significant challenges in the field of legislation.

"My recommendation is to focus not only on quantity but also on quality. It is necessary to look at the improvement of existing laws and inspect them. I have instructed the executive bodies on the implementation of the adopted rules. We adopt many fair laws, at the same time, the President signs many important decrees, but their fulfillment is not at the required level," the head of state said at that time.

"Therefore, the Presidential Administration established the relevant department. I think that the Milli Majlis and deputies should also be engaged in this work. Control whether the adopted laws are implemented or not, whether they violate these laws or not. If such cases are discovered, then, of course, severe punitive measures should be taken," he noted.
