Committee chairman suggests drafting new law on political parties

"There is a need for a new law on political parties," Siyavush Novruzov, chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Regional Affairs, said at today's plenary session of the parliament.

According to him, the law should include issues of registration, financing, and participation of political parties in the elections: "The law should also reflect the issue of the headquarters of political parties. The current law does not contain the status of election headquarters. These issues should be addressed in the new law."
