Azerbaijan to allow holding casino games on artificial land plots

Casino games will be permitted on artificial land plots in Azerbaijan.

Report informs that in this regard, amendments are proposed to the bill on the creation of artificial land plots in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea (lake).

The relevant draft was submitted for discussion at today's meeting of the Mlli Majlis Committee for Law Policy and State-Building.

According to the document, a new chapter is added to the bill, creating conditions for the implementation of investment activities in artificial land areas in order to promote and develop entrepreneurship.

Thus, all types of entrepreneurial activities not prohibited by the regulatory legal acts of Azerbaijan can be carried out on artificial land plots. In particular, casino games can be held only in places specially allocated and meeting the requirements of the agency determined by the relevant executive authority.

The procedure for holding casino games is determined by the relevant executive authority. Games can only be organized by a legal entity on the basis of a license, taking into account the opinion of the supervisory authority.

Direct or indirect participation of persons under the age of 21 in casino games is prohibited.
