Azerbaijan’s political parties to be banned from opening accounts abroad

Azerbaijan’s political parties are prohibited from opening any types of accounts (including all types of financial organizations) outside the country, Report informs referring to the preliminary version of the new bill on political parties.

Also, according to the changes, each member of a political party can pay membership fees during the year in an amount not exceeding 10,000 manats ($5,882), which is considered the upper limit for paying fees. If the amount paid exceeds the upper limit for the payment of membership fees, it will be considered a donation.
