Azerbaijan renames May 28 - Republic Day as Independence Day

Azerbaijan will mark May 28 as Independence Day and October 18 as the Day of Restoration of Independence every year, Report informs, referring to “Independence Day” bill.
Until now, May 28 was marked as Republic Day in Azerbaijan. Under the new bill, May 28 – Republic Day will be renamed as Independence Day.
The draft law will be discussed at today’s meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Policy and State Building.
