Azerbaijan joins two conventions conditionally in relation to Armenia

Azerbaijan joined the two conventions conditionally regarding Armenia, Report informs.

Today's meeting of the Milli Majlis, discussed the bill on the approval of the Convention on the Service Abroad of Judicial and Extrajudicial Documents in Civil or Commercial Matters.

The bill envisages establishing appropriate means to ensure timely delivery of judicial and extrajudicial documents to be submitted abroad to the addressee.

As noted, the convention provisions will not be applied by Azerbaijan in relation to Armenia until the consequences of the conflict are entirely eliminated, and relations with the Republic of Armenia are normalized.

Later, the parliament discussed the bill on the approval of the Convention on the International Recovery of Child Support and Other Forms of Family Maintenance at today's plenary sitting.

As stated, the convention is a multilateral treaty governing the enforcement of judicial decisions regarding child support (and other forms of family support) extraterritorially. Azerbaijan joins this convention with the same condition in relation to Armenia (the provisions of the convention will not be applied by Azerbaijan in relation to Armenia until the consequences of the conflict are entirely eliminated and relations with the Republic of Armenia are normalized).

The documents were approved after discussions.
