Azerbaijan approves increase in excise tax on alcohol

The Azerbaijani parliament in the third reading has discussed the draft amendments to the Tax Code, Report informs.
According to the amendment, the excise tax on each liter of vodka, strong alcoholic drinks and brandy will be increased by 0.80 manats.
According to the current code, 3.2 manats are charged for each liter of alcohol (including non-denatured ethyl spirit containing at least 80% alcohol; non-denatured ethyl spirit containing less than 80% alcohol), vodka, strong alcoholic drinks, liqueurs, cognac.
After the increase, the amount will be 4 manats.
The draft amendment was adopted in the third reading by voting.
