Turkey, Azerbaijan to continue setting up fraternal brigades - Spokesperson

"The Turkish Armed Forces continue to support the modernization and training of the Azerbaijani Army as well as the search and destruction of mines (improvised explosive devices) in the regions, liberated from the Armenian occupation," Major Pinar Kara, an officer of the Press and Public Relations Department of the Turkish Ministry of National Defense, told a presser on November 1, Report informs.
"To date, 123 square kilometers of territories have been cleared by our troops and Azerbaijan. In addition, 899 Azerbaijani personnel were trained to clear mines and improvised explosive devices. The Fraternal Brigade project between the Turkish and Azerbaijani Armed Forces, aimed at joint activities, planning and conducting exercises, coordination on the principles of management and implementation, continues. We continue our joint exercises with our qualified personnel and equipment, proving that our Armed Forces have the capabilities and equipment to perform all kinds of tasks. In this context, the military exercises, codenamed Unshakable Brotherhood-2021, were held in Nakhchivan on October 5-8, 2021 with the participation of the Turkish and Azerbaijani personnel," she said.
