The Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated the city of Lyman in the Donetsk region, and 5 other settlements after four months of war.
An employee of Report's Eastern Europe office visited the city of Lyman, which was freed from occupation at the beginning of October.
After the liberation, the Ukrainian military neutralized Russian army sabotage groups in the surrounding forests. Lyman city was considered a strategic settlement on the front. According to experts, control of the city allowed the Russian army to use the main road through northern Donetsk, where it was trying to establish a new line of defense.
