ICRC representatives visited two Azerbaijani citizens held captive in Armenia, ICRC Baku office told Report.
It was noted that they were given the opportunity to contact their families through telephone and Red Cross Letters.
“In accordance with its mandate, the ICRC assesses the treatment and conditions of detention of captives during visits and facilitates the restoration or continuation of contact with their families. Following ICRC procedures, observations and recommendations regarding visits are shared only with the detaining party,” reads the statement.
