Azerbaijani border guard wounded in attack by Armenian soldiers

Two Armenian servicemen have attacked and stabbed a soldier of the Border Troops of Azerbaijan's State Border Service Ruslan Shiraliyev, the State Border Service told Report.

The incident occurred on August 25 at 15:45 (GMT+4) on the territory of the border-combat point of the separate border division “Gubadli,” located on the Gorus-Gafan road section near the village of Ashagi Jibikli.

The Armenian soldiers fled when they saw that border detachments came to the Azerbaijani soldier’s aid.

“Soldier Shiraliyev was urgently taken to the military hospital of the State Border Service, now nothing threatens his life. All responsibility for the incident lies with the Armenian side and an adequate response will be given to this provocation,” the State Border Service said.
