The mass graveyards discovered in the villages of Farrukh and Edilli confirm the war crimes of Armenia, Colonel Elshad Abilov, the deputy of the commander of the military unit of the Ministry of Defense for ideological work and moral and psychological support, said at the conference organized by the Social Research Center on "Armenia's war crimes against Azerbaijan in the last 30 years," Report informs.
"We are sure that new mass graves will be discovered since up to 4,000 of our citizens went missing in the first Karabakh war," Abilov said.
According to him, Azerbaijan responded to Armenia's war crimes by liberating its lands:
"At this time, the requirements of any international convention were not violated. Our cities, villages, and entire infrastructure were destroyed during the 30-year occupation."
He noted that after the 44-day Patriotic War, Armenia's provocations were given a decent response, and the Azerbaijani Army showed its strength again:
"The enemy does not provide us with accurate mine maps, and the maps they provide do not fully meet the requirements. After the Patriotic War, 21,573 mines and unexploded military ammunition were found and neutralized in 27,590 hectares of land. During this period, eight soldiers were killed, and 85 soldiers were injured as a result of mine explosions."
The colonel also said that newly buried mines were discovered in Lachin and Kalbajar after the 44-day Patriotic War.
