In accordance with the action plan approved by the Minister of Defense, a series of events dedicated to June 15 – National Salvation Day – were held across the Azerbaijan Army, the Ministry of Defense told AZERTAC, Report informs.
During the events, the memory of National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was honored with a minute of silence. The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed.
Educational talks were held with servicemen to mark National Salvation Day – a pivotal moment in the history of the Azerbaijani people, engraved in golden letters in the country’s annals. It was noted that the return of National Leader Heydar Aliyev to political power in 1993 marked the beginning of a new era of development in Azerbaijan. Today, the Great Leader’s vision for a prosperous Azerbaijan is being successfully carried forward by President Ilham Aliyev, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and the worthy successor of Heydar Aliyev’s political legacy.
Distinguished servicemen were awarded during the celebrations.
On the occasion of the holiday, military personnel visited Heydar Aliyev Centers, museums, and monuments across the country, and viewed films dedicated to the honorable life and work of the Great Leader.
Concerts and various cultural events were also held, featuring performances by the Army Ideological and Cultural Center named after Hazi Aslanov, the Ideological and Cultural Center of the Ganja Garrison, and other artists and performers.
