OIC countries discuss fight against disinformation and Islamophobia in Istanbul

The topic of combating disinformation and Islamophobia is under discussion at the 12th meeting of the Ministers of Information of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Istanbul.

Report's Turkish bureau informs that ministers and high-ranking officials from 57 countries are attending the event, organized by the Communications Department of the Turkish Presidential Administration.

In addition to measures aimed at expanding cooperation between Islamic countries in the field of media, communication and information, the conference also focuses on the issue of launching an OIC media forum.

Fahrettin Altun, head of the Communications Department of the Turkish Presidential Administration, spoke on the topic of misinformation and distortion of the news, and also noted that Islamophobia and racism are clearly manifested in some countries.

The meeting continued in a format closed to the press.
