CIS countries adopt statement on ensuring safety for journalists

At the CIS Foreign Ministers Council meeting in Minsk, the foreign ministers of the CIS member states adopted a joint statement on ensuring safe working conditions for media workers and preventing infringement of their rights, CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev told reporters, Report informs via BelTA.
“It is our sacred duty to do everything we can to ensure free and productive work of journalists. This is not the first statement of the CIS in support of journalistic work. We are genuinely interested in getting objective coverage of our activities in the media,” said Sergei Lebedev.
