Samira Ashraf: Writer's main mission is to portray people

The main mission of the writer is to portray a person, writer Samira Ashraf said as she met with the students of Report Media School.

A person is a material of literature, she noted.

She said that journalism and literature are not separated from each other, they are the same field, but the mission of literature is wider:

"Writing is a matter of destiny, and every writer must stick to his own principles. Writers should not betray themselves, or their way. They must be able to stick to the same principles as they do in works. Otherwise, the talent will never forgivesthe writer and will punish him one way or another."

She noted that it is important to create your own style to be a talented writer:

"You need to be so unique that you don't repeat someone else. It is also difficult to separate publicity from prose and writing. In order not to give place to publicity in literature, it is essential to become a professional."

Samira Ashraf, a lawyer by profession, published her stories and columns in press, literary newspapers and magazines, and websites in 2010. She worked for Adalat, Literary Newspaper, Kulis.az culture portal.

Ashraf is a member of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union. Since February 2023, she has been working as a press secretary at the Azerbaijan State Youth Theater.
