Afik Ismailov, a traveler from Georgia, has said the visit to the ancient Shusha was an experience that left him filled with pride and joy for the Azerbaijani people.
Shusha, known for its rich history and cultural significance, was under Armenian occupation for nearly three decades until its liberation in 2020 during the Second Karabakh War.
Ismailov, who studied in Baku during the time of Shusha's occupation, expressed his happiness at finally being able to visit the beautiful city. "It's impossible to describe the emotions I experienced when I saw Shusha," he said. "I remember the day when it was occupied, I was still studying in Baku then. I'm happy that I got the opportunity to visit this beautiful city."
However, Ismailov also touched upon the devastating mine problem that Azerbaijan faces due to the numerous mines laid by Armenia during the years of occupation. "This can be called nothing but barbarism," he stated. "Civilians are dying, although the war has long been over. This is a huge misfortune."
