The joint project of the Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) on demining testifies to the strengthening of Azerbaijan's partnership with this international institution, Sultan Hajiyev, Deputy Head of the Interdepartmental Coordinating Center for the Reconstruction of the Liberated Territories of Azerbaijan, said at a demining conference organized by the UNDP and ANAMA in Shusha, Report informs.
"Azerbaijan considers the demining process as an integral part of the development of the Karabakh region," he noted.
"The process of restoring the liberated territories is going fast. The government is using resources and potential at the national level," Hajiyev said, adding that ANAMA is a fully functional and efficient structure.
"Azerbaijan is determined to restore these lands, to make sure that all those who once lived here and were forced to leave and spend 30 years of their lives striving to return could come back to their lands," he emphasized.
In conclusion, Sultan Hajiyev thanked the international partners for their assistance.
