Russian Defense Ministry cancels purchase after Azerbaijan's protest

Purchase via a tender for the maintenance of the barracks and housing stock of the Russian Defense Ministry military camps in Karabakh, indicated in the Russian unified information system for procurements (zakupki.gov.ru), has been canceled, Report informs.

Notably, the territories where the Russian peacekeeping troops are temporarily stationed were mentioned as "Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh" in the tender.

"The procurement has been canceled by the customer. However, the purchase information that was posted is not deleted even if the purchase is canceled. To completely remove the text from the website, either a court decision or an order of the regulatory authorities, which may include the Federal Antimonopoly Service, is required," said the unified procurement information system.

Earlier, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry protested to the Russian side in connection with the publication of this announcement on the portal. The Foreign Ministry noted that "such false information does not correspond to the spirit of friendly and partner relations between the two countries. The Russian side linked the incident with a technical error, said that measures would be taken to eliminate it, and in the future, issues of this kind would be handled carefully."
