Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is under very strong pressure from revanchist circles in Armenia, Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian Congress of Azerbaijan, Veteran of the First Karabakh War Yuriy Osadchenko said in an interview with Hamid Hamidov.
"60-70% of the population of Armenia will be ready to accept the signing of a peace treaty with Azerbaijan. But there is pressure from the international Armenian diaspora, mainly Marseille, Los Angeles and Beirut," he added.
He suggested that during Pashinyan's recent visits to France and the United States, the diaspora exerted strong pressure on the prime minister so that Armenia would not sign a peace treaty in any case. "The Armenian diaspora reassures Pashinyan that 'everything will be fine,'" he said.
Osadchenko also shared his memories of the Ukrainians who fought in Azerbaijan during the First Karabakh War.
“It was mainly pilots from Ukraine who fought in the air forces of Azerbaijan. In the artillery, in which I myself served, the first commander, also called the 'father of Azerbaijani artillery,' was Colonel Nechiporenko. From 1993 to the beginning of the 2000s, General Vasyak Alexander Petrovich served as the head of the operational board," the war veteran noted.
