Michalko: EU continues to assist Azerbaijan in demining

The EU continues to assist Azerbaijan in demining and is the largest donor in this matter, EU Ambassador to Azerbaijan Peter Michalko said at an event dedicated to Europe Day in Baku, Report informs.

He noted that the EU and Azerbaijan are actively cooperating in environmental protection and continue to work on the conclusion of a new Partnership and Cooperation Agreement.

"Azerbaijan has great potential in the renewable energy sector and the EU provides continuous support to the development of the country's energy sector," Mikhalko said.

He also noted the support of the EU in ensuring stability, security and lasting peace in the South Caucasus.
