Federation Council chief: Russia is doing everything in search for compromise on Karabakh conflict

Russia takes a clear and consistent stance on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Report informs citing chairperson of the Russian Federation Council Valentine Matviyenko.
"There is no military solution to Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. There is only a peaceful, diplomatic way. As a mediator, Russia is doing everything in search for compromise, solution. The country takes a clear and consistent stance on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict," Matviyenko noted.
She also said that she had discussed the issue at the meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
"It is extremely important to find a solution. It would be a great political, diplomatic success," she said.
