Azerbaijan's operation in Karabakh is not beyond borders of our country: Defence Ministry

Azerbaijan operates within its internationally recognized borders during the military operation in Nagorno-Karabakh, but shelling is being conducted from the territory of Armenia.

Report informs, Head of the International Military Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan Huseyn Mahmudov said.

"Our task is to complete this operation as soon as possible so that Armenia has no desire to carry out such provocative actions against Azerbaijan," he said. We carry out our task in our territory and it in no way goes beyond the internationally recognized borders of the Republic of Azerbaijan."

"This issue (with shelling from the territory of Armenia - ed.) should be resolved by increasing pressure on official Yerevan," Mahmudov said.

Notably, on September 27, the Armenian armed forces carried out a large-scale provocation and intensively fired at the positions of the Azerbaijani army on the front line from large-caliber weapons, mortars and artillery of various calibers. In order to suppress the combat activity of Armenian and ensure the safety of the civilian population, the command of the Azerbaijan Army decided to launch a counter-offensive operation of our troops along the entire front.
