A group of foreign journalists covering the Summit-level Meeting of Non-Aligned Movement Contact Group in response to COVID-19 visited a mosque in the village of Mardinli as part of a trip to the Fuzuli district.
According to Report, Araz Imanov, adviser to the President's special representative office in the Karabakh Economic Region (with the exception of the Shusha district), told foreign media representatives that only a few of the dozens of mosques that existed in Karabakh survived the Armenian occupation. At the same time, mosques were desecrated since Armenians kept cattle and pigs in them.
"We are not restoring this mosque because we want the guests to see for themselves what the Armenians have turned it into. As you can see, there is a lot of land suitable for farming and livestock. But they used mosques for this," Imanov said.
Then the journalists visited the reservoir on the Kondalan River.
Imanov noted that the reservoirs in Karabakh could be used for good - for agriculture, irrigation, etc., but the Armenians destroyed them during the 30 years of occupation of Azerbaijani territories.
According to him, in this regard, one of the main problems of this area was the change in the direction of rivers: "That's why this area is arid. There are no greenery and trees left here. They were all destroyed."
Foreign journalists also visited the Fuzuli center, where they were presented with information and photos of the views of the city before the destruction.
