Famous travelers who are on a four-day visit to Karabakh visited the Sugovushan reservoir, Report informs.
The guests were told about the history of the reservoir.
The Sugovushan reservoir, put into operation in 1976, is formed by water from the Tartarchay and Turagachay rivers. The reservoir with a total volume of 5.86 million cubic meters is planned to provide 96,217 hectares of land in Tartar, Aghdere, Goranboy, Yevlakh, Barda, Aghdam and Aghjabadi districts with water. Since the Sugovushan reservoir was under occupation for 28 years, serious difficulties arose with the water supply. In addition, the lack of water discharge has created serious environmental problems in Tartarchay. In addition to restoring the ecological balance in the region, the liberation of Sugovushan from occupation provided water to these districts, where water supply was difficult for many years, ensuring the continuous cultivation of crops, the elimination of water shortages, and high productivity in agriculture.
As a result of the discharge of water from the Sugovushan reservoir into Tartarchay, water was supplied to the Tartar, Goranboy, Barda and Yevlakh districts.
