Envoy: US ready to cooperate with Azerbaijan on demining

It would be nice to see more companies involved in the restoration of the liberated Azerbaijani territories, US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Earle Litzenberger said during a round table dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Report informs.

The ambassador noted that when he was in Aghdam, he saw everything with his own eyes, adding that he would like to see more US companies involved in the restoration.

To attract them, it is necessary to conduct more open tenders and increase the attractiveness of the business environment, he noted. Azerbaijan has great potential, and the US is ready to share its experience, the ambassador said.

The US Ambassador emphasized the huge potential of the liberated Azerbaijani territories in the issue of green energy, expressing the hope that the US companies will also take part in similar projects in the field of renewable energy sources.

Litzenberger also noted that the US has the necessary experience and equipment to support Azerbaijan in demining the liberated lands. So, the US Marshall Legacy Institute successfully cooperates with Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) in this matter, he added.
