“Azerbaijan has shown a clear example of how to fight for independence and territorial integrity. It is true that there were problems after the First Karabakh War. The state of Azerbaijan, the President made the right conclusions. Priority was given to the preparation of the Azerbaijan Armed Forces, the purchase of new military equipment and weapons, and victory was achieved,” Colonel Volodymyr Laguta of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine told Report.
According to him, Azerbaijan gradually moved forward on the way to restoring historical justice:
“This includes the approach to the implementation of military operations. In short, Azerbaijan has always protected its national interests. Therefore, Azerbaijan gradually moved forward on the path of restoring historical justice. As a result, it restored historical justice. Yes, it took a long time, exactly 30 years. Yes, entire generations and families faced tragedy in Azerbaijan. Many of them had houses and relatives in Karabakh. I have seen videos about Azerbaijanis who were displaced from their homes when they were young but returned to their lands when they were old. As a result, I witnessed their feelings. I have seen video footage of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev raising the National Flag of Azerbaijan in the liberated territories. This is a source of pride for Azerbaijanis.”
Laguta emphasized that he felt joy because of the restoration of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan:
“This is a clear example of how a state protects its national interests. I would like to recall that Azerbaijan was one of the first countries that wanted to leave the Soviet Union. But after gaining independence, it faced a bloody war. We remember well what happened in the first Karabakh war. Ukrainians also participated in this war. It includes pilots of helicopters involved in the evacuation of Azerbaijanis. They are the national heroes of Azerbaijan. Thus, I congratulate the people of Azerbaijan on the restoration of this historical justice. This is indeed a great victory for the people of Azerbaijan.”
