Colombia's leading digital media outlets LaOtraCara and Ola Politica have published an article by well-known journalist Roberto Trobajo entitled "Souls Cry for Khojaly" dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Mexico told Report.
The article says that during the first war launched by Armenia against Azerbaijan, Armenian armed forces committed unprecedented atrocities against civilians in Khojaly on February 26. Hundreds of innocent people, including women, children, and the elderly, were killed, taken prisoner, severely tortured, and went missing in Khojaly.
The author says that this terrible crime, which has tarnished the history of humankind and left an indelible mark on people's hearts, has long been hypocritically denied by Armenian leaders, but the world community should never forget this tragedy and remain indifferent to it.
The article also describes the atrocities committed by Armenian militants during the Khojaly genocide, one of the most painful manifestations of the policy of ethnic cleansing against the Azerbaijani people, as a gross violation of the 1949 Geneva Convention and other international human rights covenants. It is also recognized as genocide in documents adopted by the parliaments of a number of countries.
In conclusion, the author calls on the international community to act more decisively and demandingly so that the perpetrators of the Khojaly genocide, the Armenian perpetrators of the massacre, receive their deserved punishment.
