The protest rally of Azerbaijani eco-activists on the Lachin-Khankandi road will be temporarily suspended from 18:00 (GMT +4), Report’s correspondent at the scene informs.
Thus, another meeting was held with a group of participants of the 138-day environmental action organized on the Lachin-Khankandi road in the first half of the day on April 28 at the invitation of Azerbaijan's state representatives.
10 eco-activists representing the participants of the action took part in the meeting held in the administrative building of the Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Shusha district.
At the meeting, the Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Shusha district, Aydin Karimov, noted that a new situation arose due to the establishment of a border checkpoint on April 23 by the units of the State Border Service at the starting point of the Lachin-Khankandi road, which is the sovereign territory of Azerbaijan. Therefore, the participants were once again offered to stop the action.
After the consultation and discussion of the participants of the action, the decision made by the eco-activists was announced a little earlier, and the statement of the representatives of the NGOs, eco-activists, and young volunteers who were the participants of the action was read.
The statement reads that the eco-activists and young volunteers, have partially achieved their demands, as well as taking into account the repeated appeals made by state representatives, they have decided to temporarily stop the protest rally from 18:00 (GMT +4), April 28.
