Azerbaijan responds to ICRC request to take patients from Khankandi to Armenia

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) appealed to the Azerbaijani side with a request to create conditions for transporting two patients from Khankandi to Armenia, accompanied by a doctor and a nurse, Report informs.

The Azerbaijani side immediately responded to the request, and the transportation was successfully organized.

As a result, ICRC vehicles with patients Edita Osipyan (acute diabetes mellitus and heart disease) and Irina Viktorovna Avetisyan (cancer) traveled freely today at 08:30 (GMT +4) from Khankandi to Armenia.

The protesters do not interfere with the movement of vehicles used for humanitarian purposes.

The protests of civil activists against the illegal exploitation of mineral deposits in Karabakh have been going on for 14 days on the Khankandi-Lachin road.
