Every nation has a place that has left a special imprint in the soul, and for Azerbaijan, it is Shusha, Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan Anar Karimov told the opening of an international conference 'Advancing Post-Conflict Humanitarian Agenda: Sustainable development through revitalization of cultural environment' in Shusha.
According to Report, he recalled that many great representatives of Azerbaijani culture were born in this city. Shusha is famous for its mugham performers.
According to the minister, the 30-year occupation by Armenia of the territories of Azerbaijan, including the city of Shusha, has led to large-scale destruction, including monuments of cultural heritage.
"But today, the conflict is left in the past; Azerbaijan is determined to establish peace and good neighborliness," Karimov added.
The minister recalled that Shusha was also elected the cultural capital of the Turkic world for 2023, and the celebration of this event will take place next year.
He also added that many organizations had joined the Baku process, which actively promotes the development of peace and culture.
